Snoop Dogg is rallying around his daughter in the midst of a heartbreak no parent should ever have to endure. The rapper and cultural icon is publicly showing his love and support for his 26-year-old daughter, Cori Broadus, after the death of her 10-month-old baby girl, Codi.

On Saturday, Cori shared the devastating news with her followers, announcing that her daughter had passed away earlier in the week. “Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi ?,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories, alongside a black-and-white photo of herself holding her baby, according to People. The simple message captured the depth of a grief that words can barely touch.

Not long after, Snoop Dogg offered his own quiet but powerful expression of support. The 54-year-old posted a photo of himself with Cori and his sons, Corde and Cordell, accompanied only by a heart and prayer emojis. The message was brief, but it spoke volumes — a father standing firmly beside his child in a moment of profound sorrow.

Cori’s journey into motherhood had already been marked by faith, fear, and perseverance. She announced her pregnancy in December 2024 with fiancé Wayne Deuce, and just months later, revealed that her daughter had been born extremely premature. “The princess arrived at 6 months,” she shared at the time. “I’ve cried and cried, I’ve compared and compared, blaming myself because I wasn’t able to give her all that she needed. But no matter what God always shows me that He got me!” She added, “Thank You God for getting me this.”

Born at just 25 weeks, baby Codi spent months in the neonatal intensive care unit. In September, Cori reflected on the unexpected road she was walking as a NICU mom, calling her daughter a “little warrior” and acknowledging the strength God was giving her day by day. After six long months in the hospital, Cori finally shared the joyful news that so many had prayed for: her baby girl was coming home. “She’s home,” she wrote. “Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all.”

That season of answered prayer makes the loss all the more painful, yet Cori’s story has continued to be framed by faith even in suffering. Friends, fans, and fellow believers have flooded her with prayers, clinging to the same hope she once shared so openly — that God remains present, even in grief.

Snoop has never hidden his deep love for his daughter, especially as she has navigated serious health challenges of her own. Diagnosed with lupus at age six, Cori suffered a stroke in January 2024, forcing her and Deuce to postpone their wedding plans. Speaking recently on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Snoop became emotional while talking about their relationship. “As a father, one thing you know is when it’s your baby girl, you ain’t gonna hand her off to nobody who ain’t gonna handle her with care,” he said. “I watched her from creation to now, so I’m supposed to get emotional about it.”

Now, that same fatherly love is being poured out in a season of mourning. For Christians following this family’s story, Cori’s words continue to echo as both testimony and prayer — that even when answers don’t come the way we hope, God is near to the brokenhearted, holding parents, grandparents, and grieving families close through unimaginable loss.
