Ricky Schroder, who’s known for his work on TV’s “Silver Spoons” and “NYPD Blue,” has reason to celebrate. The 55-year-old actor has married Julie Trammel, a theater actress, in a romantic beach wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The couple tied the knot on July 9 at the Four Seasons resort, just days after receiving their marriage license at the Ouray County courthouse. Photos they shared on social media show the two beaming in wedding attire, walking hand-in-hand along the beach.
Julie captioned the photos with a verse from Matthew 19:6: “Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” Schroder added his own heartfelt words in the comments: “I didn’t want the evening to ever end… so I married you ?.”

The couple told TMZ they are “so grateful to have found understanding and comfort together” and said they wish the same for others. Their decision to root their wedding in Scripture highlights the faith that has become central to their relationship.
Just a year earlier, Ricky and Julie announced their engagement with another memorable moment of love and faith. In July 2024, Julie posted a video of herself playing the piano and singing Bill Evans’ “What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?” as Ricky filmed her reflection in the piano lid. She captioned it, “I’ll be doing mine with Ricky ❤️.” Schroder reshared the clip on his Instagram Story, adding simply, “I love Julie.”
Julie first appeared on Ricky’s social media six months earlier, when they traveled together to Israel. The couple shared photos smiling arm-in-arm at historic sites, offering a glimpse of a relationship rooted in shared faith and experiences.
For fans who remember Ricky as the blonde-haired child actor from “The Champ” (1979) or the mischievous star of “Silver Spoons” in the 1980s, his new chapter as a husband and man of faith feels like a long way from Hollywood.
After decades in front of the camera — with roles in “Lonesome Dove,” “Crimson Tide,” “Scrubs,” “24,” and three seasons of “NYPD Blue” — Schroder has largely stepped away from acting. He hasn’t appeared on screen in almost a decade.
In 2024, he revealed that he had intentionally chosen to leave Hollywood and move to Colorado. Reflecting on his younger years in the industry, he said, “Don’t lose sight of the Lord. Because in Hollywood, it’s easy to lose sight of the Lord there.”
This marks Schroder’s second marriage. He was previously married to Andrea Schroder for more than 20 years before their divorce in 2016. Together, they share four adult children: Holden, 32, Luke, 30, Cambrie, 27, and Faith, 23.
Now, with Julie by his side, Schroder is embracing this new season with gratitude and joy. Their wedding, framed by Scripture and filled with heartfelt words, reflects a union grounded not just in love but also in faith.
From his days as a child star to his decision to leave Hollywood behind, Ricky Schroder has lived a very public life. But his marriage to Julie marks a deeply personal and faith-filled fresh start.
As Julie wrote in her engagement post and as Ricky echoed on their wedding day, their love story is one built on God’s foundation. And as Scripture reminds us, what God has joined together, no one can separate.
