God’s Protection for John McCain — Tommy Espinoza, a Hispanic Democrat and friend of John McCain, said he asked John McCain how he survived prisoner of war camp. “He looked intently at me and said my fiath in god, my country and my family,” he said. Espinoza added his own view: “No man can survive a prisoner of war camp without go’d protection. He called on his faith to bring him back to his family and country.”
POWs — Two dozen POWs in the audience

Laura’s intro — Biggest applause… “lets not forget. President bush has kept the American people safe.”
Bush Speech — Recounts story of McCain turning down the offer of the Vietnamese for early release. “If the Hanoi Hilton cannot break his spirit… you can be sure the angry left never will.” The angry left.
Mention that he’s an adoptive father. That’s very popular with the religious conservatives. “John is a leader that knows human life is fragile, human life is precious, that human life must be defended.” Will the most pro-life ticket running on the most pro-life platform have the most pro-life convention? The Democrats rarely mentioned abortion. Republicans obviously aren’t shying away at all.
“Democrats were threatening to cut off funds for our troops.” Really?
Defense of McCain’s position on the surge — fair enough.
Reagan film — “By putting country first, Ronald Reagan saved America, saved our century.”
