I rolled my eyes when I heard Sen. Fred Thompson on Fox this morning say that the hurricane was a “disadvantage” (see my reasons here). But I laughed out lout when he said in consecutive sentences that Republicans had “put aside partisanship” AND that their response was “an example of putting country first,” which happens to be John McCain’s new campaign slogan.
Recommendation: if you’re going to show the world how you put country above partisanship you can’t then keep using it to score partisan political points.
