While I don’t rejoice in her misfortune — on the whole, I’d rather she were living a good life — I am pleased to see world-class celebrity jerk Lindsey Lohan going to jail for a while. It is no bad thing to take pleasure in seeing justice done — especially when the offender is so unspeakably obnoxious in her sense of entitlement. Look at this:

Lindsay Lohan spent one of her few remaining evenings before being jailed for a probation violation complaining that she is the victim of “cruel and unusual punishment.”

Lohan conveys an explicit message on her fingernail while in court. Two days after being sentenced to three months behind bars, Lohan used her Twitter feed to cite Article 5 of the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its prohibition against “torture” and “inhuman or degrading treatment.” Later, she would tweet the story of Iranian woman Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, sentenced to death by stoning for adultery. It was unclear whether Lohan was drawing a comparison to her case.

Vom. Enjoy jail, princess. It’ll probably do you some good.
