Reformed Chicks Blabbing

That seems to be the take of Times magazine: Politics might be rock ‘n’ roll for nerds, but the nerds aren’t supposed to be quite this nerdy. The leader of the disaffected in next year’s presidential election – the Howard Dean, the Ross Perot, the Pat Buchanan – is a kindly great-grandfather and obstetrician whose…

The post an Mukasey elicited this response from an anonymous commenter (of course, do we get any other kind): when republicans block legislation it’s because they are standing by their principles. when democrats do it, they’re obstructionist. when democrats try to move bipartisan legislation and bush vetoes it, it’s somehow the democrats’ fault that bush…

This is an interesting turn of events. It seems that al-Qaeda wants to make sure that Muslim nations don’t become America’s allies. Maybe since they’re losing the war in Iraq, they’re going to hit on other fronts: Al-Qaida’s No. 2 figure harshly criticized Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi in a new audio tape Saturday, accusing him…

Was it? The Corner has the answer.

This is so funny! When are the Democrats going to learn not to play chicken with this president? Bush threatens to leave the post empty, so the Democrats have to back down and make sure he gets confirmed or else they look like the obstructionists they are. Michael Mukasey drew closer to becoming attorney general…

I hope it’s over quickly! I don’t want to see them cancel any of the new shows that I like because of it. Show-business writers will go on strike early Monday after their negotiating team recommended a walkout over royalties that could immediately pinch late-night TV shows. The Writers Guild of America board voted unanimously…

Nice to see that the security measures are working: Security officials at the nation’s largest nuclear power plant detained a contract worker with a small explosive device in the back of his pickup truck Friday, authorities said. Authorities said it didn’t appear to be an act of terrorism. The worker was stopped and detained at…

Evidently, someone has sought a patent for a jacket that would resist shocks like a taser. Do you think they’ll call it “Don’t tase me, bro?” Gregory Russell Schultz apparently empathizes with this demographic, and has filed a patent for an “energy weapon protection device” — essentially a jacket embedded with alternating layers of conductive…

A major round of applause to the Edwards’ campaign for this ad, it’s incredibly effective for demonstrating Hillary’s tendency take two sides of an issue. (via)More please!

This is absolutely disgusting and is happening far too frequently. It seems today that you have to worry more about your teenage son than you do your teenage daughter! These women are predators and need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and then labeled sexual offenders when they get out.
