Sure there’s been lots of fuss over  the weekend about  the finale of some wizard by the name of Harry Potter, but if  you heartbroken Harry Potter fans are looking to discover a fantasy series  to feed your souls, well, let me recommend  film critic/blogger/author Jeffrey Overstreet’s “Auralia Thread ” series. The mythical saga starts with outcast Auralia  who lives in a colorless kingdom called Abascar  and winds up with the fascinating character of the ale boy finding a shred of hope to save humanity.

The  entire series is loaded with  bold, magical images and other wordly creatures that have tinges of Christian allegory in them but the spiritual themes are so much broader than that.   I can’t imagine a better book series to fall in love with this summer if you are  fantasy fiction buff – and even if you are not.( I can’t say I read much fantasy fiction and I love this series!)

The series has four books in it and I will be giving away two complete  sets to two readers this week in a random drawing. Just send me an email at readmymindbooks@gmail.com  with your snail mail address by this Friday at 5 EST.
