Father,

Teach our children to learn how to love. You’ve spelled it out, defined it, drawn the boundaries around it, and painted a picture of what it looks like with every step Jesus took on this earth. I speak Your Word over them as I pray….

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

Lord, make them patient and kind, secure and not jealous, humble and polite with each other. Help them to look out for each other’s best, not just their own. May they avoid toxic words and unforgiving tones. Keep them ever mindful to praise you in all circumstances. Keep their passion high, their faith high, their hopes high, and their bodies, minds, and spirits strong.

In Jesus’ Name Amen
