And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men. (Colossians 3:23)

Father,

Thank you for the privilege of rolling out of bed every morning and finding myself in my workplace. It’s a blessing that comes with challenges, and I am asking for your wisdom to meet those challenges. Since I answer to no one else with regard to how I use my time, I want to answer to you, my Lord.

Please be my time management coach. Help me to establish effective rhythms in my schedule. Help me in my planning to skillfully estimate how much time my tasks will take and to allocate those tasks to the best time frames.

Grant me self-control to avoid distractions that will waste precious time. Help me to avoid too much multi-tasking and attending to non-essential things that can and should wait.

Father, I long to do my bit – to contribute something special to the world while I’m here. Thank you for the opportunities you have given me in my little corner of the world. Help me to be careful and faithful to complete the calling you have on my life at this time. Through diligent attention to my work, I am assured that you will increase my opportunities and capacities to do even more to your glory. For this work is ultimately all about you, and it’s all for you. Thank you, Father, both for small beginnings and great strides.

Thank you for meeting my needs through this employment and for the great satisfaction that work well done can bring.

Now, onward with my day! Be with me every step. Give me ears to hear your promptings and eyes to see your hand at work in my work.

Amen
