Violent storms tore through the southern Plains yesterday killing five people and injuring many more. Several tornadoes and numerous thunderstorms with powerful straight-line winds flattened homes, toppled semitrailers and downed power lines and trees. The storms ravaged Oklahoma and Kansas, dumping hail as big as baseballs and leaving tens of thousands of people without power. Let’s lift prayer for those walking through the aftermath of these torrents.

“God, we pray a blessing of peace and courage for all those struggling now in the wake of these powerful storms in Oklahoma and Kansas. We pray for healing for those who are injured. We pray for comfort for those who have lost loved ones. We pray for courage and peace for those who have lost property or have been displaced. We pray too for settled weather and ‘peace on earth.’ In Jesus name…”
