How do you know that there is a future? Seriously Tushkateers. It’s not as if anyone has ever been there. (Am I right, or am I right?) Yet, we imagine that there is a future and we visualize this future based on our past. A past, which no longer exists.
If the past no longer exists and there is no future, then there is only the present moment. Now, I know that you’ve heard that before and that you ‘get it.’ Yet, sometimes we speak in absolutes. Absolutes that are based on past experiences.
Absolutes like: “I always…” or “I never…” or “everybody…” or “nobody!” Absolutes have an all-or-nothing aspect to them. When we speak in absolutes, we basically kill off the possibility of other outcomes.
So…next time you hear yourself saying, “I always fail…” or “I never win…” or “Everybody’s better…” or “Nobody cares…” remind yourself that the past is over. There is no future. Only possibility exists.
Live in possibility!
