Recently, I was chewing the fat with one of my star clients (you’re all stars), Millie (the names have been changed…) who’d successfully and permanently removed over 30 pounds two years ago.  She’d contacted me because the circumstances of her life had changed and with these changes, she felt herself reverting to her old ways, which would inevitably lead to her weighing more.

One of the old ways that had seeped back into Millie’s way of being was a certain defeated tone.  During our session she said, “Every morning I tell myself that I’m going to try to get back on the wagon…”  And, “I keep trying, but …”  And then, “I’m going to try to remember…”

Try, try, try!  Millie was using the most sabotaging word in the English language – and therefore in the Battle of the Bulge!

When you “try,” the implicit possibility of failure is always there, hanging heavy. You’ve left yourself a loophole that leads straight to a slippery slope.

As the great Yoda said, “Do or do not… there is no try.”  If you don’t believe me, or Yoda for that matter, then place a pen on the table.  Try to pick it up.  Go ahead and see what happens.  You either do pick it up or you don’t pick it up.  There is no try!

Happily, I am here to inform you that there are other words and phrases that you can use instead of “try” that have a positive association to them.

Eliminate the word ‘try’ from your vocabulary; and substitute the words –

You can now explore and discover how to easily and effortlessly move “into the lite!”

Do or do not … there truly is no try.
