1 We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. Hebrews 2:1-4

It’s far too easy for us to ignore the great salvation given to us. How many hours go by without you thinking about God? How many days or weeks go by without you opening God’s Word? Here are four sure fire ways to make the most of your incredible salvation:

  1. Consume the Word. When you dig into Scripture, you’re engaging with God’s living revelation to you. It changes you. Every single day should start and end with God’s Word. (If you’re looking for a way to regularly interact with God’s Word, I Facebook Live a morning devotional every weekday at www.facebook.com/drjoshdaffern.
  2. Pray with thanksgiving, not just a Christmas list. So many times our prayers are a laundry list of what we want from God and how we want him to bless us. Before you start asking for anything, spend time thanking God for who he is what he’s already done for you. Start by thanking God for your great salvation.
  3. Worship regularly. I’m a worship junkie. I love Hillsong, Hillsong United, Elevation Worship, Vertical Church, Bethel Church, you get the picture. I listen to worship music constantly as a way to keep my mind focused on spiritual things. Find your worship jam and rock out throughout the day.
  4. Exercise your spiritual gifts. In verse 4, the author reminds us that spiritual gifts testify to this great salvation. Do you know yours? Do you exercise your gift regularly? Start by taking a spiritual gifts test at www.spiritualgiftstest.com and discover your spiritual gift. As you use it regularly, you’ll interact with the Spirit of God inside of you, the deposit that serves as a constant reminder of this great salvation.
