The owner of In-N-Out Burger is calling on people to seek God’s comfort following a devastating shooting at one of the company’s Idaho locations that left three people dead and at least seven others injured.
The tragedy unfolded on Aug. 1 at an In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, when authorities say 24-year-old Chad Williams opened fire before later taking his own life. According to investigators, one of those killed was an In-N-Out employee who was serving customers at the time of the attack. Witnesses reported that the gunman fired at people sitting in their vehicles and even through the restaurant’s drive-thru window.
In the aftermath, In-N-Out owner and president Lynsi Snyder shared an emotional message expressing grief for the victims while encouraging people to turn to their faith.
“My heart is broken, my chest is heavy, my eyes burn from the tears I’ve shed,” Snyder said in a public statement. She mourned the loss of the employee, describing her as someone who was faithfully caring for customers when her life was tragically cut short.
Snyder also acknowledged the pain experienced by employees, customers, and the victims’ families, saying the company would stand with them during the difficult days ahead.
“I am no stranger to loss, but this is so incredibly tough,” she wrote. “I love you all, and I ask you to turn to God, not in anger, but seeking comfort and strength for those who are hurting.”
Even amid the heartbreaking violence, authorities say two ordinary people displayed extraordinary courage.
Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks praised an off-duty Idaho State Police trooper and an armed citizen who confronted the gunman during the attack. Officials believe the pair fired at the suspect, forcing him away from the crowded restaurant and preventing even greater loss of life.
“We believe their actions helped drive the suspect away from the scene, preventing further casualties,” Hicks said, calling their response “heroic.”
As the community continues to recover, several victims remain hospitalized, with two still listed in critical condition.
