President Donald Trump marked Easter with a message to Christians around the world, pointing to the hope found in Jesus Christ and declaring that “evil and wickedness will not prevail.”

In a video address, Trump centered his message on the Resurrection, calling it “the most glorious miracle in all of time.” He quoted one of the most well-known verses in scripture, John 3:16, saying, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, for whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life,” describing the words as “beautiful.”

Trump emphasized that Easter serves as a reminder of the hope Christians have because of Christ’s sacrifice and victory over death.

“Because of what Jesus did on the cross, all of us can live every day with hope in God’s promise, knowing that in the end, evil and wickedness will not prevail,” he said.

Reflecting on the life, death, and Resurrection of Jesus, Trump described three defining truths: Christ’s life showed “true humility,” His death demonstrated “true love,” and His Resurrection proved that “even death itself will not silence those who place their trust in Almighty God.”

The president also spoke about what he described as a renewed interest in faith across the United States, suggesting that churches are seeing a resurgence in attendance and engagement.

“Religion is growing again in our country for the first time in decades,” he said. “To be a great nation, you must have religion, and you must have God.”

In a separate written Easter statement released by the White House and signed by both Trump and first lady Melania Trump, the message leaned deeply into Christian theology, highlighting the significance of Christ’s Resurrection.

It declared that Jesus’ victory over death “secured the promise of redemption and the hope of eternal life for all who believe in Him as Lord and Savior,” adding that “a new creation has been ushered in, and evil and death have been conquered forever through the unmatched power of God’s sacrificial love.”

The statement also referenced the prophecy of Isaiah, noting, “He was pierced for our sins, crushed for our iniquity … by His wounds we were healed,” underscoring the belief that Christ’s suffering brought salvation to humanity.

Framing Easter within the broader story of the nation, the statement said the Gospel has helped shape America’s identity for generations and pointed to the enduring influence of faith throughout its history.

It concluded with a triumphant declaration shared by Christians for centuries: “He is risen.”

As more than 2 billion Christians around the world celebrate Easter, the message serves as a reminder of the central truth of the faith — that through Jesus Christ, hope, redemption, and victory over death are available to all who believe.
