US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, is speaking out against attempts to erase the Jewish history of the nation of Israel. He noted how archaeology has confirmed a strong Jewish presence from the days of antiquity. “”First of all, archeology is a daily reminder of the connection between this land and the Jewish people going all the way back to 3,500 to 3,800 years, whether it’s Shilo, whether it’s Jerusalem,” he told Fox News Digital. “The excavations at the City of David alone are a validation of the biblical record of what really did happen here,” he said. “Sometimes people on the far-left love to say ‘follow the science, follow the science,’ and I would say to them, as it relates to the land and the connections to the Jewish people, follow the science of archaeology.”

Huckabee has refused to participate in attempts to undermine Israel’s Jewish claim, including refusing to attend a conference in New York between France and Saudi Arabia which seeks to promote the recognition of a Palestinian State. Huckabee called the meeting “inappropriate.” “”It’s incredibly inappropriate in the midst of a war that Israel is dealing with to go out and present something that I think increasingly Israelis are steadfast against,” he said, noting that the events of October 7th had made Israelis less open to the idea of a Palestinian state. “If France is really so determined to see a Palestinian state, I have a suggestion for them–carve out a piece of the French Riviera and create a Palestinian state. They are welcome to do that, but they are not welcome to impose that kind of pressure on a sovereign nation. And I find it revolting that they think they have the right to do such a thing,” he said. He hoped that the two countries would “reconsider” the meeting without the US’s participation.

He also affirmed the United States’s commitment to Israel, despite the tensions that have been speculated on by media outlets. “I don’t think pro-Israel Americans need to be concerned that there’s some rift between the United States and Israel. Are there sometimes differences of opinion on the next steps in the war in Gaza, getting the hostages home, or maybe to avoid an all-out war with Iran? Of course, that’s natural,” he said. “ It’s critically important that the United States maintains its partnership—and I use that word very deliberately—it’s not a friendship, it’s not an alliance, it’s a partnership, which means we are yoked together in our intelligence sharing, military — so many ways in which our nations are linked inseparably.”
