Beliefnet’s Nora Beth Puls reports in her “Sweet Shore” blog that the U.S. Navy’s Logistics Specialist 1st Class Christopher Cady, a petty officer, has been named the winner of this year’s National Fatherhood Initiative “Military Fatherhood Award” during a ceremony in Bremerton, Washington.
Cady was selected from from nominees around the world. Judges were particularly touched by his devotion to his 11-year-old son, who is legally blind and deaf due to a debilitating disease.
