The longer any illusion is taken to be real, the less illusory it seems to be.

What is the denial of anything, of any moment in life but an unseen agreement to live in servitude to one’s lower self. This, and all degrees of unconscious resistance, represents a blind and immediate obedience to the parts of us that refuse to see themselves.

We rarely see how, or when we act against ourselves – or others – because of how instantly, easily we agree to identify with a legion of sleep-inducing thoughts and feelings that appear to serve one purpose: to justify a dark and self-defeating level of us for which there can be no justification.
