Don’t feel happy all the time? Afraid that means you don’t have much hope?

“Discontent and disorder are signs of energy and hope, not of dispair.”
                                                                   —English historian Dame Cicely Wedgwood

Love this quote.  Let’s think about this for a minute as we look for ways to increase hope in the week ahead.

On the surface, it seems to make sense that if things are going right, we should feel happy, right? But, I’ve learned it’s important to realize that negative feelings can be helpful, too.  There’s a light that can come out of them…in the form of a spotlight that shines on areas of our life that we may need to focus on and improve.

If you are able to think about it in that way, you can learn to…well,  not really welcome negative feelings, but definitely start to use them in a more productive way.

The true nature of hope means that we are somewhat dissatisfied, and are looking for positive changes to make things better.  Change—as you know—can make you uncomfortable.  So to feel a little unsettled can defintely help to increase your level of hope!

Have a wonderful week.
