“Jersey Shore” star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino says God rescued him from a life of addiction and destruction — and now he believes it’s his mission to help others find the same freedom.

Sorrentino, once known for his wild partying and hard-living lifestyle on reality television, recently shared a bold message about faith and redemption in an Instagram video that quickly caught fans’ attention.

“God saved my life from the fiery pits of hell, but on one condition — I go back in with buckets of water to save others,” Sorrentino said. “And that’s why we have this book.”

The reality star was referring to his 2024 memoir, Reality Check, a deeply personal account of his struggles with addiction, fame, prison, and recovery. The book details the highs and lows of his life behind the scenes of one of reality TV’s biggest franchises.

According to the book’s description, Sorrentino shares “a raw and uncensored picture of his rise to stardom, steep fall and amazing renaissance.” He openly discusses everything from substance abuse and destructive choices to his eventual recovery and transformation.

In the comment section of his post, Sorrentino expanded on why he felt compelled to tell his story publicly.

“God saved me from the fiery pits of hell with a purpose,” he wrote. “To go back and help pull other people out, too.”

“That’s why I wrote my book,” he continued. “To share the setbacks, the lessons, the comeback, and to let people know that one bad chapter does not mean your story is over.”

Sorrentino’s testimony has resonated with many fans who watched his struggles play out in the public eye over the years. Once consumed by addiction and legal troubles, he now regularly speaks about sobriety, faith, family, and second chances.

Earlier this year, Sorrentino celebrated eight years of sobriety, calling it his “biggest flex” in a social media post.

His personal transformation eventually led him to co-found Archangel Centers, an addiction recovery organization based in New Jersey focused on helping individuals battling substance abuse and mental health challenges.

For Sorrentino, the work is deeply personal. He has repeatedly said he believes God allowed him to survive his darkest seasons so he could help others escape theirs.

“This was never supposed to stop with me,” he wrote online. “Because I made it out, and now I’m coming back with buckets of water.”

Many Christians flooded the comments section of his video with encouragement and praise for the transformation they’ve witnessed in his life.

“So proud of him!!! I grew up watching The Situation lol! Such a different man!” one supporter wrote.

Another added, “The fruit of the Spirit is so visible in this man! Praise God!! Hallelujah!! Christ is King!”

Sorrentino’s story is serving as a reminder to many believers that no life is too broken for God to restore. His journey from addiction and prison to sobriety and ministry echoes the message found in 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!”

For a man once defined by chaos and excess, Sorrentino now says his greatest purpose is helping others discover the same hope and healing he found through faith.
