Country-rap singer Colt Ford recently spoke out for the first time after he was hospitalized following a heart attack three weeks ago after performing in Arizona. In a video shared to his Instagram, Ford, 54, thanked his friends and fans for their support during the difficult time. “I just want to tell you guys, thank y’all for all the prayers, the love, the comments, the messages. I got a long way to go, but I promise you this ol’ country boy will get back. It probably won’t be this year, and I hate I gotta miss all these shows, but I’m coming back,” Ford said in the video. “I’m coming back.” The musician thanked the many people who reached out to him and offered their help along with giving a shoutout to his family and fiancée Megan for sticking by his side. “It’s tough on everybody. You don’t realize that until you get into a situation,” he said. “Make sure you take care of yourself. Things can sneak up on you. But know that I’m coming back. I’m coming back, I promise you. I love y’all.”

Ford was rushed to the ICU at the Banner Desert Medical Center on April 4th after he suffered a heart attack following his performance in Gilbert, Arizona. Ford said he remembers being on his tour tour after his show and texting his fiancée, “Hi baby,” when he fell to the floor. The singer said that is all he remembers until he woke up in the hospital. Ford was filled in on what happened saying, “I died two times.” He revealed that he was clinically dead on his tour bus before he was revived by emergency personnel. He flat lined once more on the way to the hospital. “They brought me back, they saved my life. The Lord had more for me to do. I have more music to make, and hopefully some more differences to make in people’s life.”
Ford has cancelled all of his tour dates through August as he recuperates from his heart attack.
