Elsie, Sylvia, Joan and Mary were once best friends while attending Mount Saint Mary’s Academy in the 1950’s, but overtime, they all grew apart. Until they were all reunited years later after they all ended up living in the same retirement home. Their retirement home, Atria Grass Valley Senior Living, posted to their Facebook page detailing the amazing coincidence and shared what the women thought of it all. “It has been heartwarming to reminisce about our school days,” Sylvia shared. “We were just talking about how Mount Saint Mary’s Academy only had one bathroom and all of us girls were always crowding the one mirror to put on our lipstick.” Joan added how much she loves knowing that she has three close friends living with her at Atria. “I’m comforted knowing my friends of 75 years are living here with me.”

In a video posted to YouTube, the women reminisced about their high school days all together. “We had a prom every year,” Joan Harris said. “We had a girls basketball team. And we played other Catholic girls’ high schools. We had typing, and we had music and art.” Sylvia opened up about the importance and value of friendship is, especially as they age. Their time together means everything to them. “I think friendship is very important,” Sylvia Crane said. “And having old friends is wonderful. There’s so many of us that are gone. It’s very important to me to know that I still have these three wonderful women around me.”
