Martin Lawrence got the chance to play Santa Claus for his annual charity event where he was able to bring some joy and give gifts to a group of underprivileged children in the foster care system in Los Angeles. The comedian and actor teamed up with some fellow celebrities for a day full of excitement at the K1 Speed: Indoor Kart Racing in Burbank, California. The annual event was part of the Martin Lawrence 2023 Celebrity Go Kart Holiday Kick-Off. Approximately 125 children had the chance to enjoy arcade games go-karting with celebrities along with receiving gifts from their Christmas lists in honor of the holiday season. In addition to the fun activities and gifts, the children got to chow down on Raising Canes chicken fingers and Randy’s Donuts.

Lawrence was joined by fellow celebrities such as rapper and actor Kid Cudi, rappers Polo G and MC Lyte, comedian and actors King Bach and Affion Crockett, Jo Koy, Chip tha Ripper, comic Benji Brown and former NFL player Willie McGinest. Lawrence and the rest of the celebrities in attendance were seen interacting with the kids and taking selfies with them.

The actor held his first annual celebrity go-karting event in 2022 where he advertised the charity event on his social media pages. He shared a photo with information about the event saying, “With the holiday season fast approaching, Ol’ St. Marty Mar is here preparing this very special once a year event that aims to list the spirits of unhoused children and other who may be experiencing the trials and tribulations of life.” Lawrence captioned the photo, “Excited to introduce my first annual Runteldat celebrity go kart tournament, an exclusive event benefiting mothers and children who have experienced the trials and tribulations of life. Who’s trying to helmet up and race for a cause!?”
