Jeremy Renner took to Instagram thanking supporters for sharing their thoughts and prayers after he was involved in a snowplow accident. “Thank you all for your kind words,” he wrote. “Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all.”

The accident happened on New Year’s Day after a family member’s car got stuck in the snow near the actor’s home in Tahoe. Renner was in his snowplow helping free the vehicle, and once he was successful at this, he got out of the snowplow to talk to the family member, when the snowplow began to roll. Renner is said to have tried to get back into the driver’s seat of the snowplow when he was run over. The “Mission: Impossible” actor was airlifted to the local hospital after the freak accident where it is said that he was the “only party involved.” He suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and immediately underwent surgery to repair the damages. His representative has reported that he is in critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit. “Jeremy is making positive progress and is awake, talking and in good spirits,” Renner’s representative said. “He remains in ICU in critical but stable condition. He is overwhelmed by the showing of love and support. The family asks for your continued thoughts while he heals with his close loved ones.”

Renner’s family have shared how grateful they are for the support in a recent statement from Renner’s representative by saying, “Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families,” the statement added. “They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
