America’s first fast-food hamburger chain, White Castle, and NEST Fragrances, a specialized home
fragrance company, have once again joined forces to serve up another round of
The Original Slider®-Scented Candle to benefit autism fund-raising and satisfy the holiday gift-giving needs of White Castle lovers
everywhere.

A slider scented candle, you say? What an odd idea.

Well, Martha Stewart,
Vera Wang, and other notables seemed to love it enough to show up at a White
Castle in Manhattan a couple of weeks ago to celebrate.

“Packaged in a ceramic holder that reproduces the signature cardboard sleeve
of the White Castle hamburger packaging, the
steam-grilled-burger-on-a-bed-of-onions-scented candles made their debut in May
during White Castle’s 18th annual celebration of National Hamburger Month. All
10,000 candles sold out in less than 48 hours and the net proceeds were donated
to Autism Speaks.

“When we first introduced The Original Slider®-Scented Candle in our stores
and online last May, we had no idea it would become the national phenomenon it
did,” said Jamie Richardson, White Castle vice president of corporate relations.

“Our original goal was to do something special for our loyal Cravers during
National Hamburger Month while exploring a fun, new way to support a great
cause. We’re looking forward to keeping the momentum going and doing more of the
same with this fresh batch of Slider®-Scented Candles.”
