Donnie Wahlberg and his wife, Jenny McCarthy, have taken a public step in their Christian faith, getting baptized after both recently opened up about surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ.

Wahlberg, 57, shared footage of the couple’s baptisms as part of a birthday video looking back at the past year. Set to music by Elevation Worship, the video also featured moments from the couple’s faith journey, such as their attendance at a CeCe Winans concert.

But it was Wahlberg’s message about what God has done in his life that stood out.

“Looking back over the past year of my life, the Lord has been renewing my mind, rebuilding my spirit, rearranging my priorities, recentering my focus, recharging my energy, reshaping my heart, refining my faith, restoring my joy and redeeming my life!” he wrote.

“I don’t know where I would be without Jesus, but I know where I will be with Him! All the glory is His!”

The couple was baptized by Dudley Rutherford, lead pastor of Shepherd Church, a nondenominational congregation in Porter Ranch, California.

For Wahlberg, the baptism follows months of increasingly public conversations about his Christian faith. The New Kids on the Block singer and longtime “Blue Bloods” star has regularly shared prayers and messages about God on social media.

During an April appearance on “The George Janko Show,” Wahlberg explained that despite having a successful career and loving family, something was still missing.

“I have a wonderful wife, wonderful kids. I have everything,” he said. “Everything to the outside, to everyone, looks perfect, and I was empty. I was empty without Him.”

Wahlberg said he had spent years trying to rely on his own strength before realizing he needed to surrender control to God.

“I finally got to a point where I was like, I can’t do it anymore without Him,” he said. “I’m missing something in my life.”

McCarthy has described a similar spiritual shift. Raised Catholic, the actress and television personality said in a December interview that she had “completely surrendered” to Jesus after the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk left her deeply shaken.

“I was so broken. I prayed and prayed and prayed,” McCarthy said.

She also pointed to what she viewed as a wider spiritual response to the tragedy.

“Look at the mass awakening,” she said. “Look at how many people came closer to God, even including myself.”

Wahlberg’s renewed faith also follows a pattern within his family. His younger brother, actor Mark Wahlberg, has long spoken publicly about his Catholic faith and daily prayer, while their brother Jim Wahlberg has shared his testimony of finding redemption through Christ after years of addiction, crime and incarceration.

For Donnie Wahlberg, however, his latest message was focused less on where he came from and more on what he believes God is doing now. After decades in the public eye, he says his priorities are being reordered around something bigger than fame, career or success.

“All the glory,” Wahlberg wrote, “is His.”
