Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and his former fiancée, Sarah Jane Ramos, have reportedly called off their upcoming wedding, asking friends and loved ones for prayers as they navigate the unexpected change.
According to TMZ Sports, the couple sent an email to wedding guests informing them that their highly anticipated ceremony in Lake Como, Italy, scheduled for April 10, 2026, would no longer take place.
“As many of you know, our wedding is currently scheduled to take place in Lake Como, Italy, on Friday, April 10, 2026,” the note read. “It is with heavy hearts that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, and we welcome your prayers.”
The message did not provide details about the reason behind the decision, but reports indicate the relationship had been strained in the weeks leading up to the canceled wedding.
Sources told TMZ Sports that the couple’s relationship had been “rocky” recently, with tensions reportedly escalating during their joint bachelor and bachelorette celebrations over the weekend.
Ramos appeared to hint at the importance of leaning on friends during difficult times in a recent social media post. Sharing photos from a trip with close friends, she wrote, “I truly believe you can get through anything in life as long as you have really great friends. I love these girls so much.”
Prescott was notably absent from the 16 photos and videos included in the Instagram collage.
Earlier this year, Ramos had shared photos from her bridal shower, which she described as “the most intimate and beautiful bridal shower of my dreams.” In that post, she expressed excitement about the future, writing, “So grateful for my aunts who hosted it and my girlfriends and family that came to celebrate. I love you all so much and can’t wait to marry the love of my life with all of you by my side.”
The couple’s relationship had once appeared to be on a joyful trajectory. Prescott and Ramos announced their engagement on October 18, 2024, and share two children together.
Prescott, who has largely kept his personal life private in recent months, last shared photos of Ramos and his family on social media in July 2025. Since then, his account has been mostly quiet aside from promotional content.
While the exact reasons behind the breakup remain unclear, the couple’s request for prayer suggests a deeply personal and emotional moment as they move forward separately.
For many believers, seasons of disappointment and unexpected turns can become moments that lead to reflection, healing and renewed faith. As Prescott and Ramos face this challenging chapter, supporters across the sports world and beyond are likely to join them in prayer during this difficult time.
