The giant will once again be slain in Branson, Missouri, beginning March 7.

‘DAVID,’ the epic musical retelling of the life of the biblical king, is in its final season. This run will allow thousands of people to experience the musical for a final time before the curtain falls on October 8, 2026.

“We were overwhelmed by the response to ‘DAVID’ ‘s debut season in the Ozarks,” said Cynthia Carson, General Manager. “To have over 800,000 people join us on this journey from pasture to palace is a testament to the timeless power of this story.”

Sight & Sound, a storytelling company celebrating 50 years of bringing true stories to life on stage and on screen that reveal the power of the Gospel, began as a traveling multi-media show in 1976. Since then, it has entertained more than 30 million viewers using stories from scripture and history.

During the COVID shutdown of 2020, Sight & Sound launched a streaming platform that allowed viewers from more than 200 countries and territories to experience the gospel message. Branson is their second location, after their original location in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Every Sight & Sound production is years in the making, from original concept to writing scripts, casting, production, and creating the soundtrack. Recent productions have included “QUEEN ESTHER,” “DANIEL,” and “JESUS.”

The production of ‘DAVID’ uses a new Spanish closed-caption technology along with intense battle scenes and moments of intimate worship.

“We continue to bridge the gap between innovation and ministry with the introduction of handheld I-Caption technology.” Said Kortney Neal, Marketing & Community Relations Manager. “This new feature provides real-time Spanish closed captioning, ensuring our different members of the audience can experience the music and message of ‘DAVID’ to the fullest.”

The Psalms and the live performances inspire the original soundtrack, which is enhanced by a custom-built harp especially designed for the production. Songs include “Let Everything That Has Breath,” “Psalm 23,” “The Battle Belongs,” “Bathsheba,” “Anything to Save the Crown,” “Goliath,” and “You Are That Man.”

“The story of David is big,” said Jay Petersheim, the artistic director. “It’s a story from David and his youth to the whole way through his death.”

From the intricately choreographed fight scenes to a trained flock of 30 sheep, meticulous attention was given to every detail of this original production. Among ‘DAVID’s’ most striking features are the giant animatronic Goliath and a flying LED screen, each designed to transport guests deeper into the moment.

When the 50-person cast takes the 300-foot wraparound stage alongside animal actors, including camels and horses, goats, birds, and donkeys, audiences will find themselves immersed in one of the Bible’s most legendary stories.

One of the most daunting tasks was creating the character of Goliath, the towering Philistine warrior that David famously defeated.

“Goliath was probably one of the biggest challenges in the story of David,” Petersheim said. “We want to tell it with Sight & Sound drama, and we want to make sure that it’s told with excellence.”
