Miley Cyrus is officially in her “Flowers” era — and this time, love is in full bloom.
The 33-year-old pop star is engaged to musician Maxx Morando, according to multiple sources. The exciting news comes after Cyrus was spotted at the Avatar: Fire and Ash world premiere in Los Angeles on Dec. 1, where fans couldn’t help but notice a sparkling diamond ring on her left hand. The couple posed together on the red carpet, and the glitzy ring quickly became the talk of the night.
According to jewelry designer Jacquie Aiche’s rep Francesca Simons, the ring is a “bespoke” design featuring a cushion-cut diamond set on a thick 14-karat yellow gold band — a modern yet timeless choice fitting for the ever-evolving artist.
Cyrus and Morando, 27, have been together for four years. They were first linked in late 2021 after being spotted getting cozy backstage during Cyrus’ NBC holiday special Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party in Miami. By April 2022, they had seemingly confirmed their romance when they were photographed sharing a kiss in West Hollywood.
In a June 2023 interview with British Vogue, Cyrus revealed the two first met on a blind date. “We got put on a blind date,” she said. “Well, it was blind for me and not really for him. I thought, ‘The worst that can happen is I leave.’” Clearly, the risk paid off.
The couple’s six-year age difference hasn’t fazed them. Cyrus told Harper’s Bazaar in November 2024 that their relationship works because they “just don’t take life too seriously.” She laughed about how Morando is more of a digital native: “He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters. Honestly, he’s raised our dog off Reddit.”
By March 2024, the pair had reportedly moved in together. A source told PEOPLE, “She is very happy with him. Miley has changed a lot in the past couple of years. She seems calmer and harmonious. Everyone loves Maxx. He’s a great guy. He’s private and doesn’t like being in the press. It’s been good for her.”
Cyrus has been open about what she values in her relationship. In a September conversation with The Cut, she reflected on the lessons she had learned from her past romances. “I ended up with a person who means a lot to me and treats me really well and respects me,” she said. “I had to find someone who treats me with respect… My man’s hot as hell … but my man also respects me.”
Their bond extends beyond romance — it’s creative, too. Morando, who plays drums for the band Liily, collaborated on several of Cyrus’ songs, including “Handstand” and “Violet Chemistry” from her “Endless Summer Vacation” album. He also co-produced tracks on her ninth album, “Something Beautiful.”
When Cyrus accepted the 2024 Grammy for Record of the Year for “Flowers,” she gave a heartfelt shout-out to her now-fiancé, calling him “my love.”
Cyrus was previously married to actor Liam Hemsworth from December 2018 to August 2019.
It looks like Miley has found her forever duet partner — and this time, she’s got the ring to prove it.
