Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is joining Fox News as an on-air contributor, marking a new chapter for the outspoken Catholic who left the Trump administration this summer to spend more time with her young family.

Fox News announced Monday that Leavitt, 29, will begin her new role on November 1 and appear across the network’s news and opinion programming.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue appearing on Fox News Channel as an official member of the extraordinary team at Fox News Media,” Leavitt said.

“I look forward to bringing my unique perspective from my experience as White House Press Secretary, along with the same energy and candor that defined my tenure, to Fox’s millions of viewers across their many platforms.”

Leavitt stepped down as President Donald Trump’s chief spokeswoman in August following the birth of her second child, daughter Viviana, in May. She and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, also have a young son, Niko. The family now lives in New Hampshire, where Fox News reportedly plans to build a home studio for Leavitt.

Throughout her rise in politics, Leavitt has spoken openly about the role her Christian faith plays in both her career and family life.

Raised Roman Catholic, she attended Catholic schools and graduated from Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. She has said her Catholic upbringing helped instill values that continue to guide her, and during her time as press secretary, prayer became part of her daily White House routine.

“My faith is incredibly important to me,” Leavitt said in a 2025 interview, explaining that it helped her handle the public pressure surrounding her demanding role. “With faith, all things are possible.”

Leavitt also began her days with prayer and led her team in prayer before White House press briefings, asking God for confidence, wisdom and strength. She has described her worldview as extending beyond politics, saying she believes in “spiritual warfare” and that God has a purpose even when circumstances do not unfold as expected.

Her move to Fox News brings Leavitt back to familiar territory. She worked at the network during the 2016 election before beginning her political career, later serving in the first Trump administration, running for Congress and becoming national press secretary for Trump’s 2024 campaign.

Now, after becoming the youngest White House press secretary in U.S. history, Leavitt is returning to television while remaining closer to her family and continuing a public career in which she has made her faith a visible part of her life.
