After three seasons with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Reece Weaver is stepping away from the iconic squad—and she’s doing so with the same faith that has defined her journey from the beginning.

Weaver’s departure was featured in the Season 3 finale of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, where she announced her decision during an emotional meeting with DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell.

“This is a hard day. But I think I’m going to move on to a new chapter,” Weaver said. “I’m really excited about it, but it’s been hard to make that decision.”

Before the conversation, Weaver prayed with her husband, Will Allman, asking God for wisdom and the right words. For fans who have followed her story, the moment was a fitting reflection of the faith that has guided her throughout her time with the organization.

When Weaver first earned a spot on the squad in 2023, she publicly gave glory to God rather than focusing on her own accomplishment. Quoting Psalm 37:3-4 on social media, she wrote, “Wherever I go, and whatever I do, may it bring Him glory and shape me into the Reece God has made me to be.”

Her commitment to Christ remained evident even through challenges. During Season 3, Weaver battled a hip injury and a high ankle sprain that sidelined her for two games. Rather than expressing frustration, she used the setback as an opportunity to share her faith.

“The Lord answers prayers in mysterious ways,” she wrote at the time. “I am most thankful for the Author of my story. He’s proven time and time again that He knows what He’s doing, even when I don’t.”

That trust in God’s plan resurfaced as she reflected on her decision to leave the team. According to USA Today, Weaver thanked the organization for the opportunity and said her “cup is filled to the brim.”

“It’s been everything and more that I could imagine,” she said.

In a display of humility, she also expressed hope that her departure would create an opportunity for another young woman to achieve her dream.

“If my absence gives another girl this opportunity, that would be the greatest honor,” she said.

As she placed her uniform on the rack reserved for departing cheerleaders, Trammell embraced her and told her, “You’ve done a great job and left your mark here.”

Weaver was one of several veterans who chose not to return for another season, but her faith-filled testimony has made her stand out to many viewers. Throughout her time in the spotlight, she consistently pointed people back to Christ and often reminded followers that she danced for an “audience of One.”

While Weaver has hinted that “some really cool” opportunities lie ahead, she has not yet revealed what comes next. Whatever path she chooses, her story serves as a reminder that following God’s leading sometimes means stepping away from something good to embrace something new.
