Rapper Gazzy Garcia, better known as Lil Pump, says he’s never felt more grateful to be alive. The 25-year-old artist, famous for his hit song “Gucci Gang,” recently survived a terrifying car crash in Florida—a moment that not only shook him but also sent him running back to his faith.
The accident happened on August 9 while Lil Pump was driving in the rain. His SUV lost control, rolled over, and was left completely totaled. Photos and video he posted online show the vehicle flipped onto its side, its windshield smashed in and its front bumper ripped off. For a few moments, the rapper thought his life might be over.
“Guys I almost lost my life four days ago,” he shared with his 13 million followers on Instagram. “GOD is real!! Do not drive in the rain. Health is wealth. I had to kick down the window to get out. If not, I was dead.”
Lil Pump credits his quick action—and God’s protection—for making it out alive. He explained that the crash came so suddenly that the only way out was to break the window himself. The fact that he was able to escape with his life is something he sees as a miracle.
The accident happened just days before his 25th birthday on August 17. Instead of throwing the kind of wild party fans might expect, Lil Pump made a different choice. He went to church for the first time in six years.
“I gotta get closer to God,” he later admitted. “I felt disconnected & empty day by day. I’m feeling better than ever.”
It’s a surprising turn for an artist who built his career on high-energy performances, flashy lifestyle, and controversy. Known for his bold personality and support of President Donald Trump, Pump has never been shy about making headlines. But this brush with death has shifted his perspective.
Now, instead of focusing on fame and fast living, Lil Pump says he wants to focus on gratitude and faith. He believes God spared his life for a reason, and he’s determined not to take that blessing lightly.
For his fans, it’s a reminder that no matter who you are or what your past looks like, God can use life’s hardest moments to call you closer to Him. In Lil Pump’s case, what could have been a tragedy has instead become a testimony.
