For the third year in a row, Dollywood has been crowned “favorite theme park” in the United States, continuing a winning streak that reflects not only thrilling rides and family fun but the spirit of faith, hospitality, and joy that defines Dolly Parton’s vision.

The prestigious title comes from the National Amusement Park Historical Association (NAPHA), which just released its annual Amusement Park Attractions Survey. The survey, conducted among dedicated park enthusiasts and NAPHA members—who have each visited more than 130 parks on average—recognized Dollywood as the top theme park for 2024.

Located in the scenic Smoky Mountains of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Dollywood is much more than just a place for roller coasters and cotton candy. It’s a wholesome destination rooted in the values of its founder, country music legend Dolly Parton. With over 50 rides and attractions and more than 2 million visitors annually, the park continues to shine as a beacon of family-centered entertainment and Southern charm.

In a social media post celebrating the honor, Dollywood highlighted its mission to create “memories worth repeating,” a phrase that resonates with families and faith communities across the nation.

Disneyland in California came in second place, showing just how impressive Dollywood’s three-year reign truly is. Dollywood also claimed the runner-up spot for “most beautiful park,” falling just behind Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Other winners in the NAPHA survey included Knoebels Amusement Resort in Pennsylvania as its “favorite traditional amusement park” and its Phoenix coaster as its “favorite wood roller coaster” for the 14th consecutive year. Cedar Point’s Millennium Force and Six Flags Great Escape’s The Bobcat took home honors for “favorite steel roller coaster” and “best new attraction,” respectively.

While the awards span the country, Dollywood’s consistent top ranking speaks volumes about the heart behind the park. Dolly Parton has always emphasized that her goal was to create a place that honored her Appalachian roots and offered guests a place of joy and inspiration.

In a world where theme parks often chase bigger thrills and flashier attractions, Dollywood has stayed true to its identity—offering fun grounded in values, beauty, and warmth.

As families plan summer vacations and churches organize youth trips, Dollywood stands out not just as a destination—but as a place where faith and fun meet in the hills of Tennessee.
