Kel Mitchell recently shared a prayer on Instagram, praising God for His miracles and the fact that there’s nothing that He can’t do. He wrote, “God, thank You for proving that nothing is impossible for You. There is no sickness You cannot heal, no disease You cannot cure, no heart You cannot hold, and no darkness You cannot drive out. You are above all things, and it is by You all things are held together. So right now, I give You thanks for all that You’ve done and for who You are. You alone are holy! Amen.”
Growing up as one of Nickelodeon’s most recognizable child actors, Mitchell found himself hollow with the promises of fame. He decided to turn his back on Hollywood and pursue the only thing that gave him meaning—the Lord. Though he still returns to acting when the role is right, Mitchell primarily works as a youth pastor.
He also uses his platform to share the Gospel and encourage fans through social media. He encourages others to give their lives up to God and allow Him to dictate their path. Having been a child actor before social media, Mitchel understands the pressure of having your life public more than most people in his generation.

He understands the depression and anxiety that can come from having strangers weigh in on your life and encourages the younger generation to place their foundation in God rather than in what the world says about them. “They really need the love of Christ,” he told CBN. “They really need the love in their life to help them. And I really feel like once the youth understand how God feels about them and that they are part of a royal family and they invite Him into their hearts, it can really change things.”
“Take your anxiety, take your depression, take whatever it may be to the Lord first, so that way you prepare for your day,” Mitchell added.
