“The Voice” judge Gwen Stefani recently opened up about her faith, sharing that God helps her through the business of life. She told People Magazine, “It’s literally schedule, schedule, schedule. But there is a balance. For me, the only way that I’ve gotten this far is with my spiritual faith and being able to take time out to pray. You see the miracles, and that’s inspiration and fuel to keep it going.”

Then, Stefani shared how much her husband, Blake Shelton, has changed her life, including a move to Oklahoma. She shared, “I didn’t see any of this coming with Blake. This was just a big old ‘What?’ It was an amazing gift to experience love like that for the first time. He’s changed my life. When I started dating Blake, that’s when I felt home, like: ‘Oh, this is where I’m supposed to be, with this guy.’”

She laughed, referencing their move to the Midwest, “I am not really a dirt or a bug person. I don’t like that much humidity. But it’s so beautiful in Oklahoma, and you kind of feel like you’re going into this vortex. Nature, and God, is all right there.” Stefani also shared how her new life has allowed her to be there for her children. She added, “When my kids were teenagers, I really wanted to make sure that I was home for them, and here we are.”

Shelton said of their move, “We get away from everything in LA, and we’re just us. It truly does feel different. That’s where I feel the most comfortable, happy and safe.” Shelton and Stefani don’t have any children together, but he treats Stefani’s three sons, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo, whom she shares with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, like his own. Shelton said, “I think being a stepdad has changed my perspective in that I’m not the first person I think about anymore.”

He continued, “Even to the small little things when you go, ‘I think I’ll do this,’ The next thought is always, ‘Well, wait a minute. How’s that going to work?’ Or ‘What will they think?’ Or ‘How will that affect a schedule?’” Shelton said of his stepfather role, “They’ve taught me something about myself that I never knew: I’m more than just a country singer or a goofy guy. I’m someone they actually lean on, and that’s not a responsibility that I ever had and not something that I ever considered even being into.”

Gwen Stefani has never been shy about sharing her faith. In a previous interview with the “TODAY Show,” the singer shared how her faith gets her through hardships, saying, “For me, I was turning to my faith right away. That was a seed my mom planted in me when I was a little girl; it’s a journey. It’s almost like you get lost; it’s like you get lost on your journey. We all do, and we all will, and I will again at some point, I’m sure.”

Stefani also shared her outlook on life, saying, “I feel like it’s the way you handle things, you never know. You’re gonna be blessed. You have to ask for the blessings. You have to keep engaged. That’s how I believe. That’s how I live my life. I’m getting better at it. It’s something you have to work on. It’s like a spiritual exercise every single day.”
