Jamie Foxx recently took to Instagram to wish his sister Deidra Dixon a happy birthday and to thank her for saving his life. The “They Cloned Tyrone” star shared a touching birthday tribute to his sister saying that he wouldn’t be alive without Dixon. Foxx is referring to his hospitalization back in April for a “medical complication.” He shared a series of photos of Dixon with the caption, “Happy birthday to my beautiful for sister…you are magical you are beautiful you are the courageous lionesses #leoseason.” He concluded the post saying, “And without you I would not be here… had you not made the decisions that you made I would’ve lost my life…. I love you forever and ever happy birthday sis #swipeleft.” Foxx and Dixon share one other sibling, sister DeOndra Dixon, who sadly passed away in October 2020 at the age of 36.

Back in April, Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, shared that her father had suffered a “medical complication” and had been hospitalized. The news sent media outlets into a frenzy, with rumors swirling that Foxx was “blind” and “paralyzed.” Foxx’s family debunked those rumors in May saying that the actor had been discharged from the hospital and was recuperating at home. In July, Foxx addressed his hospitalization in an Instagram video crediting his sister and daughter who he says “saved my life.” He continued by saying, “I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in, in such a way, and y’all know they kept it airtight, they didn’t let nothing out. They protected me. And that’s what I hope everyone could have in the moments like these.” Foxx addressed the rumors and explained why he hadn’t shared more about his hospitalization saying, “I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through. I know a lot of people were waiting and, you know, wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you I just didn’t want you to see me like that man.” He said that he wants his fans to see him laughing, joking and having fun and not with “tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.” He ended the video thanking God saying, “I’m here on Earth because of God, man. So I love all y’all. I just wanted to jump on here and let you know that I’m on my way back.”
