Kevin Costner and his wife Christine Baumgartner have announced that they are going their separate ways after 18 years of marriage. The news was confirmed by Costner’s representative, Arnold Robinson, in a statement saying, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action. We ask that his, Christine’s and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”

The pair first met in the 80’s on a golf course when Costner was rehearsing for his role in “Tin Cup.” Years later in 1999, Costner and Baumgartner crossed paths again at a restaurant opening and began dating shortly after. They tied the knot in Aspen, Colorado in 2004 after dating for nearly six years. They share three children together, Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 12. Costner has four older children, three of them – Annie, Lily and Joe, are from his previous marriage to Cindy Silva, where they were married from 1978 to 1994. His fourth older child, Liam, is from his previous relationship with Bridget Rooney from 1995 to 1998.

In November, Costner spoke sweetly of his wife, “My wife does things that just completely… It just helps. The house is prettier because of her. Everything is warmer because of her. There’s these little things that she does and I think it’s the power of love, but that she makes her home that way,” the “Yellowstone” actor told People.

We pray for Kevin and Christine as they navigate this difficult time in their lives.
