Vin Diesel took to Instagram to pay tribute to his late friend, Paul Walker, on the ninth anniversary of his heartbreaking death. Diesel shared a photo of the two with the caption, “Nine years… love you and miss you.” The pair starred in the blockbuster movies, “Fast & Furious” where they formed a close friendship over the years.

Walker tragically passed away in 2013 from a car crash in Los Angeles where he was a passenger while a friend was driving the car. When officers arrived on the scene the Porsche Carrera GT was engulfed in flames due to the collision. Deputies stated that speed was a factor in the cause of the crash. Walker is survived by his daughter, Meadow, who is the goddaughter to Vin Diesel. When she got married in October of 2021, Diesel walked her down the aisle.

Diesel has spoken about the shock and sadness he’s felt since Walker’s death, saying “I’m still reeling from the loss, the idea of continuing along without my brother Pablo [Paul] and what that felt like and the complexities of that,” he said during an appearance on the SiriusXM show “Conversations with Maria Menounos” in 2017. “If I ever had a concern of something I would call him. And I don’t have that call now and I don’t have that person that’s dreaming up the impossible with me. One of the things that makes this film so magical, the relationships are so powerful that they bleed off screen…,” he continued. “There wasn’t a second we made this movie, not a minute, not a day that went by that we weren’t thinking about our brother Pablo,” he added. “How to bring him into the movie, how to represent him and how to make something that he would be proud of. Pablo, I hope you are proud tonight.”
