Musicals are all the rage on television these days. Fox recently aired Grease: Live and millions tuned in to watch the live rendition. On Psalm Sunday, March 20th from 8 – 10 p.m. Fox will air live from New Orleans The Passion: Live.

The two-hour event will be hosted and narrated by Tyler Perry. The end result will be a modern retelling of Jesus’ story through popular pop songs that everyone will be able to identify with. Chris Daughter will perform Imagine Dragons’ “Demons” and other songs such as “We Don’t Need Another Hero” by Tina Turner, “The Reason” by Hoobastank and “Unconditionally” by Katy Perry will also be showcased. Musical genius Adam Anders is the executive producer and music arranger for The Passion. The songs bring the story to life and allows everyone to resonate on a deeper level.

Performances will be shot at various location from the French Quarter to Jackson Square at Audubon Park – and there will be a big procession of an illuminated cross throughout the streets of New Orleans. Performers include Yolanda Adams, Jencarlos Canela, Gabriel Conte, Chris Daughtry, Shane Harper, Prince Royce, Seal, Michael W. Smith, and Trisha Yearwood.

The Passion: Live is unlike any musical you’ll ever see. All of the elements, music and script, encompass a story that serves as the foundation for Christians everywhere.
