The Green Prince Political thriller, “The Green Prince” tells the story Mosab Hassan Yousef, son of a key Hamas leader, who betrays his father and country to work for Israeli security forces.

The narrative is framed around his life as a double agent, and loosely based off his memoir, “Son of Hamas: A Gripping Account of Terror, Betrayal, Political Intrigue, and Unthinkable Choices.”

Incarcerated for buying illegal weapons, Israeli intelligence, Shin Bet, approaches Yousef with a proposition. Israeli handler, Gonen Ben Yitzchak, convinces Yousef to be an informant, providing privileged, pertinent information on Hamas.

And there begins a dangerous alliance and an inspiring friendship.

Israeli director and writer of the film, Nadav Schirman, melds a dramatic story of espionage and optimism in the midst of moral conflict.

‘The Green Prince’ premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, winning the 2014 Audience Award for Best Documentary, World Cinema.

‘The Green Prince’ will be in theaters September 12, 2014.
