All the hoofers on the Great White Way gathered last weekend in honor of everyone’s favorite four-legged friends for the 13th Annual Broadway Barks charity event.

The organization was founded by mega-star, animal lovers Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore to promote the adoption of shelter animals. Since then, as the organizations website states, Broadway Barks “has evolved into an event that has not only focused on the plight of homeless animals but has opened the door of communication and fostered a spirit of community among the numerous shelters and rescue groups working throughout the city.”

The tail-wagging good time was produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and took place in the famed Shubert Alley on Saturday, July 9. Among the big names lending a hand at the  ASPCA and the New York Times sponsored shindig were Eddie Falco from “House of Blue Leaves,” Nikki M. James from “The Book of Mormon” and “Will Swenson from “Priscilla Queen of the Desert.”
