I love “The Onion,” but never more than when they spoof on Twilight, especially since they always do so in good fun (and not maliciously) and always in such hilariously creative ways. Earlier this year they published the article, “Woman Married To Fat, Emotionally Distant Vampire Escapes Into ‘Twilight’ Novels” which is a must if you haven’t read it already, but the other day they put out a video-spoof which is their best yet: “Al-Qaeda Calls Off Attack On Nation’s Capitol To Spare Life Of ‘Twilight’ Author.”The “report” contends that Stephenie Meyer is to thank for thousands of lives spared in the DC metro area when the terrorists planning the attack found out that Meyer was doing a signing in the area (!!!). The piece goes on to show pictures of Osama bin Laden with a “Team Jacob” t-shirt on, Al-Qaeda terrorists showing up to get books signed, and a hilarious commentator and defender of the Twilight Saga. I promise it will make you laugh–it’s not to be missed.
