It seems that Kabbalah super-couple Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher may be distancing themselves from the religion, reports MSNBC.com.
Sources tell “The Scoop” that the May-December duo haven’t attended services or Shabbat dinner at L.A.’s Kabbalah Center for months and “that Kutcher was just last week spotted shopping on Robertson Blvd. without his trademark red string.” This being the same red string Kutcher decried the digital removal of from his wrist in “Guess Who,” his remake of “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” with Bernie Mac. (It seems test audiences “’were really annoyed’ by the sight of the emblem of the trendy religious movement.”)

Perhaps with all the recent press surrounding that other celeb-heavy, controversial religion, Scientology, the couple has decided to lay low; afterall, overexposure can be death for celebrities (see the box office takes of “Mission Impossible: III,” “Lions for Lambs,” and “Mad Money”). One source thinks that Kutcher was “tired of being dragged there on Friday nights.”
But, perhaps, like pre-wackiness Britney Spears, the twosome simply got tired of the Center continuously asking them to ‘tithe’. (Even Madonna, the Queen of the celeb Kabbalists, is said to “to resent the enormous drain her association with the group has been on her finances.”) Afterall, neither Kutcher or Moore has recently scored a huge hit at the box office and “That 70’s Show” residuals can only bring in so many clams to go to the Kabbalah Center.
