As you may have heard on the national news, Nashville, TN and the surrounding areas were devasted by rains and flooding this weekend, and the aftermath is just a mess. The 2010 Dove Awards happened last week, and believe it or not, much of the area around the Grand Ole Opry is under water. The Opryland Hotel has several feet of water in the lobby.A friend told me that many of the music tours leave from one central location, meeting at the Opryland parking lot to get on the tour bus, leaving their cars there until they return. Well, their cars are completely under water.Thousands of people in Nashville and the surrounding areas are without power or phone service, and many still haven’t been able to locate friends and family. Businesses were devastated and homes completely destroyed.I saw this picture of downtown Nashville; I can’t believed the water is that high. I’m sure that in the coming days we’ll hear more stories about flooding and about how you can help. For now, pray for the people in Tennessee, and consider making a donation to the Nashville Red Cross. If you have a story about the flooding in Nashville and how people are helping each other, I’d love to hear it!
