On last night’s American Idol Wild Card show (you can read my live show recap), the judges surprised everyone by naming 13 contestants instead of 12.
Ricky Braddy blew his chance by singing “Superstition” and looking like a karaoke contestant. I was really excited at the prospects of him being in the Top 12. Tatiana del Toro proved that she’s still just an self-centered, arrogant, immature, emotionally unhinged basket case by throwing a bit of a whining fit and forcing the judges to pay attention to HER!HER!HER! and completely taking away from Megan’s moment. But you can read all of that in my Wild Card live blog.
Jasmine Murray, Megan Corkrey (pictured), Matt Giraud and Anoop Desai were put through. That makes your Top 13:

Danny Gokey
Alexis Grace
Michael Sarver
Allison Iraheta
Kris Allen
Adam Lambert
Lil Rounds
Scott MacIntyre
Jorge Nunez
Jasmine Murray
Megan Corkrey
Matt Giraud
Anoop Desai
I think this group has some great talent, but as in year’s past there is some dead weight. (I don’t know what the judges see in Megan Corkrey. She really doesn’t sing well at all.)
The show kicks off next week for real! I’ll see you back here on Tuesday while I blog live. Follow me on Twitter to make sure you get the link to the live blog post.
