subway hero.jpgThis may be one of the feel-good stories of the year.  Carlos Flores, New York’s newest subway hero, met the man he saved at the hospital after the incident.  Thomas Grant was on his way to volunteer at a soup kitchen in Manhattan when realized he was going to have an epileptic seizure.  He blacked out and fell onto the tracks, right before a train entered the station.  The quick-thinking Flores jumped down and pulled Grant to safety.

At the time, Flores was on his way to his job in the produce section of a supermarket.  He had picked up the extra shift, partially to buy presents for his family for the upcoming holiday season.  His son, though, already had the best present of all–a superhero for a father.  “I love you, dad” he was reported as saying.
