Jean Graham Ford, the only remaining sibling of the renowned evangelist Billy Graham, passed away on February 29, 2024, at the age of 99, according to her family.

Ford was Graham’s youngest sister. “We will miss her in this life but look forward to eternity together in the presence of our Savior, Jesus Christ the Lord,” wrote Franklin Graham, Ford’s nephew.

As the last living link to one of the most influential families in modern Christian history, Jean’s life story is a testament to resilience, grace, and the enduring power of faith.

Jean Graham was born on March 1, 1921, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to parents William Franklin Graham Sr. and Morrow Coffey Graham. Growing up alongside her brothers, Franklin, Nelson, and Billy, Jean experienced the joys and challenges of a close-knit family deeply rooted in their Christian faith.

From a young age, Jean exhibited a quiet strength and unwavering commitment to her beliefs, traits that would define her character throughout her life. While her brother Billy would go on to become one of the most influential Christian leaders of the 20th century, Jean remained steadfast in her support, serving as a pillar of strength and encouragement to her family.

Life of Service and Devotion

Jean’s life was marked by a deep sense of service and devotion to others. While she may not have commanded the same spotlight as her famous brother, Jean’s impact was no less profound. She dedicated herself to various charitable endeavors and community initiatives, embodying the values of compassion, humility, and selflessness that were instilled in her from an early age.

Throughout her life, Jean remained actively involved in her local church, where she found joy and fulfillment in serving others. Her kindness, generosity, and genuine concern for those in need endeared her to all who knew her, earning her a reputation as a beloved and respected member of the community.

Strength in Adversity

Despite the many challenges she faced throughout her life, including the loss of loved ones and personal struggles, Jean remained steadfast in her faith and resilient in the face of adversity. Her unwavering trust in God’s plan sustained her through difficult times, inspiring others to find hope and solace in their own trials.

Jean’s quiet strength and unshakable faith served as a source of inspiration to her family and friends, reminding them of the power of perseverance and the importance of trusting in God’s providence. Her life was a testament to the belief that even in our darkest moments, there is light to be found in the love and grace of God.

A Lasting Legacy

As the last remaining sibling of Billy Graham, Jean Graham Ford leaves behind a legacy that will endure for generations to come. Her life was a reflection of the values and principles instilled in her by her parents, and her example continues to inspire others to live lives of faith, love, and service.

Jean’s passing marks the end of an era for the Graham family, but her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the indelible impact she made on the world around her. Though she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her.
