What is it that makes it so hard to remain teachable? Seems like the older I get the more prone I am to pick up a bias or embrace and absolute. This despite both knowing better and making a personal commitment to cast off preconceived notions and see the world through new, childlike eyes. I know they say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks and many people believe that nature and nurture rolled the dice on who we are and how we’re built not long after we left grade school. But I’m not buying it. There’s got to be a way for us to retain (or, in some circumstances regain) wonder and adventure as we make our way through the one life we have on this earth.

So, what do you think? Any advice for this old dog?
