Here’s today’s dispatch from the crossroads of faith, media and culture.

Video shows Planned Parenthood worries about bad press. Of course, you can’t help but wonder what they’d have to do to get it.  This is the tenth undercover video released by the citizen journalist group Center for Medical Progress that compellingly documents Planned Parenthood’s under-the-radar and allegedly-illegal trafficking in fetal body parts for money. The Media Research Center reports that since the group release its first video in its expose series in mid-July the mainstream media has barely covered the story at all.

From Katie Yoder at Newsbusters: From the beginning, the liberal media raced to defend Planned Parenthood. In the first 9 hours and 30 minutes of news shows broadcast after the story broke, ABC, NBC and CBS, spent only 39 seconds on the first video. It took more than 24 hours before all three covered the story. In the week after the first video, the networks gave a mere 9 minutes and 11 seconds to the story (in contrast, the nets devoted more than three times that to the Susan G. Komen controversy, when the charity temporarily decided to defund the abortion giant)…

…The three networks haven’t mentioned the content of CMP’s last five videos. In fact, the networks haven’t covered a single Planned Parenthood video release in more than one month.
IMHO: It sure seems like a story to me — one that needs to be fairly explored. It’s hard to believe the media’s own bias isn’t playing a big role in  the apparently deliberate attempt to bury it.
