While driving near the outskirts of Washington D.C., I listened to and followed directions coming from the GPS sitting on the car dash.

Stay to the left, stay to the left, stay to the left. Take the ramp in point 2 miles and continue of 95 north.

Ramps are generally on the right so I missed the ramp on the left. But, after “recalculating” the GPS machine had me back on track within minutes.

I could see my awareness shrinking into the size of that GPS machine.

The more I relied on the GPS machine, the less I was seeing ahead and around.

I could drive and not see the city. I could drive and not get to know the roads.

With all due respect for the GPS machine, I turned it off when I could fairly make myself drive by memory. It’s okay if I have to stop and look at a map. It’s okay if I have to become more familiar with my surroundings. It’s okay if I have to think. We have angels to help us.

From 21st Century Science and Health, “We need to become familiar with original Bible texts and be willing to give up human beliefs and interpretations established by hierarchies or instigated by the worst passions of mortal beings. Familiarity with texts opens the way for divine Science to be understood and makes the Bible the map of life, where the healing steps of Truth are clearly pointed out.”
